Season 1 · Remain
Remain.
We’re taking six weeks to dwell on one word: remain. What it means, how it changes the way we work, rest, and live, and what it looks like to stay close to God in an ordinary week. Every post, piece, and booklet this season grows out of that one word.
It starts in John 15, where Jesus tells His disciples that fruit grows from staying connected to Him, not from straining. Season 1 runs October 11 to November 20.

Week 1
- a branch doesn't wake up and try harder to be a branch.
- honest question:
-
You were never meant to "produce" your way into purpose.
- wild how we spend all day trying to earn His attention.
-
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
- how often we treat prayer like a report.
- you were made for faithful work.
-
The vine and branches isn't a productivity metaphor. Jesus wasn't giving you a growth hack. He was describing what love looks like when you stop performing for it.
- most of us read John 15 like a performance review.
-
You're not the gardener.
- you can work hard today without working for His approval.
- whatever today looked like.
- rest isn't a reward for finishing.
-
Fruit is grown through trust.
- the prodigal son had a whole speech ready.
- you don't have to clean yourself up before you come to Him.
- if all you did was keep showing up, that counts.
-
To Abide, To Surrender, To Sacrifice
Week 2
- some mornings you wake up already counting what didn't get done.
- i used to think peace came after the work was done.
-
The opposite of hustle isn't laziness.
- you are not a machine to be optimized.
-
How often do we reach for the things that don't really give us any rest?
- you'll never feel finished if "enough" keeps moving.
- you're not tired because you rest too little.
-
And He said to them, "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.
- Martha wasn't doing anything wrong. she was serving Jesus.
-
You got what you were working for, and the satisfaction left faster than you expected. Nothing went wrong. You were asking the goal to carry something it was never meant to hold.
- you don't lose focus all at once.
- hit a goal you chased for months and felt... not much?
- the voice that says you're falling behind has never once said "okay. you can rest now."
-
You were loved first.
- when the second temple's foundation was laid, the old men who remembered the first one wept. it looked so small.
- rest today without building a case for it.
- Solomon had it all and called it vapor.
-
God won't give you more than you can handle"
